How do I book a consultation?

You can see all about booking at Book Now: call us on 01752 218575 or click on Contact on the navigation bar to your left to contact us direct.

How much does a consultation with David cost?

The first consultation is always free and lasts for around half an hour.

This no-obligation meeting is an opportunty for you to discuss the issue you'd like to change in more detail, in a confidential and informal setting.

Afterwards you have the choice to either make a future appointment, or go away and have a think about it. Either way, this initial chat is totally free.

Subsequent appointments

David usually works in blocks of two appointments, but you should notice changes after the first session. Hypnotherapy is a fast therapy, so one or two sessions are often all that is needed. Most  clients only see David for two sessions. Each session costs £75.

How long will my session last?

You should allow around 1 and a half hours for each session

What will happen at a consultation?

A typical session usually includes identifying your aims and goals, and then working together using hypnosis to change and improve your life. It's that simple!

Can I come with a partner?

Yes.

Do I need to tell you anything about myself before I come for a consultation?

No.

Do you do consultations for children?

Yes. Children and young people usually find hypnosis easy. David often works with young people, but finds that children over the age of eight tend to benefit more noticeably.

How often will I need to return for further consultations?

It depends very much on the individual, however, it is rare to do more than three sessions on one particular issue.

When will I have to pay for the consultation?

David operates a "pay as you go" system.  Payment by cheque or cash at the end of each session.

What is the cancellation policy?

24 hours notice is required for us to cancel an appointment without full payment being forfeit.

Where will the consultation take place?

Office 7, Drake Building, Tamar Science Park, Derriford, Plymouth PL6 8BX.

How do I find David's office?

Tamar Science Park is right next to Derriford Hospital. If you are approaching from the city centre via Crownhill then follow the signs for the hospital. As you approach Derriford there are clear signs for the Science Park. It's the next right turn after the hospital car park. More details here.

Did You Know?

Hypnosis is so often mis-represented in film and television that hardly anyone knows what it actually is.

No one can hypnotise you against your will, but virtually everyone can be hypnotised.

Hypnotherapy is completely natural and safe. There are no harmful side effects.

You don't become unconscious when hypnotised. In fact, it's a focused state of concentration and heightened awareness

You can come out of the state of hypnosis at any time you choose.

You won't reveal any secrets and you can't be made to do anything that goes against your values or morals.

Ironically, the more intelligent and strong minded you are, the easier you will find it to become hypnotised.

Everyone of us slips in and out of hypnosis many times each day. This phenomenom is known as environmental hypnosis.

You may have experienced environmental hypnosis whilst:

  • Driving somewhere and then not being able to remember your journey....
  • Being so focused on a hobby or task that time seems to fly by...
  • Watching a film and feeling the emotions of the characters....
  • Having a bath or shower and noticing a bruise, but being unable to recall how or when you got it.
